The upper leg is the region of the body located between the hip and knee joint.  This region of the body is comprised of one long bone, the femur, as well as numerous muscles, tendons, and ligaments, including the hamstrings and quadriceps.  These components of the upper leg help facilitate daily activities such as walking, running, jumping, climbing, kicking, and much more.  It is important to have a thorough understanding of the different components that help make up the upper leg to help better understand complications or injuries to this area when they happen to occur.
