The wrist joint is often classified as the most complex small joint in the human body. The wrist is actually comprised of multiple bones and joints that work with one another to allow the hand to have a wide range of movement. In addition to the large number of bones located in this small joint of the body, there is also a large number of muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves and blood vessels that travel through the wrist. It is important to have a proper understanding of this region of the body in order to be proactive instead of reactive with susceptible injuries that may occur.
